Welcome to Quakertown United Methodist Church

We're glad you're here.  QUMC is a community of believers that is committed to Sharing Christ, Growing in Christ, and Serving Christ together.  It's our prayer that you will be centered on Jesus while you're here.  Take a few moments to check out the website.  We hope you'll visit and consider becoming part of our QUMC community.  If there is any way we can be of service to you, please don't hesitate to contact us.  Welcome to our church.

Current Highlights

Haiti Earthquake Response

The Apostle Paul calls followers of Jesus to "rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn."  The writer of Hebrews reminds us to remember those who suffer "as if you yourselves were suffering."  And in Galatians we are reminded to "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."  With these Scriptures in mind, we mourn, we remember, and we commit to do all we can to help carry the burden of our brothers and sisters in Haiti.  Look here for more information about the United Methodist Church's response and for ways to be in prayerful action.

Calling All Members: Church-wide Visioning Retreat

All members of the church are invited and encouraged to attend QUMC's visioning retreat on February 19-20.  We'll meet from 7pm 'til 9pm on Friday night and 9am 'til 3pm on Saturday (lunch will be provided).  The goal is to identify a vision for who God is calling our community to be moving forward.  The retreat will be led by an outside consultant, the Reverend Charles C. Cole, Sr. Pastor at Paoli UMC, a recognized leader in visioning in the Conference.  In order to provide food, we'll need to know ahead of time how many folks will be joining us.  If you're planning to attend, please let us know.

Rethink Church Current Needs

Our Rethink Church campaign is actively working to be engaged with the community of Quakertown.  One way we can do this is by working with community organizations to identify and meet the needs of our neighbors who are in need of a little help.  Here are the current needs we're working to fulfill: birthday boxes, gas cards for the Milford Shelter, women's clothing, and a storage area.  For more details about these needs and how to respond, see the Rethink Church page.  Check out the bulletin board and bulletin inserts frequently for the latest needs to be met.

Confirmation Information

We're gearing up for our annual time of confirmation.  More information for potential confirmation students is available here.  Those interested in serving as confirmation mentors can see the Mentor Page for more information.  Everyone in our community is encourage to pray for these students as they study, reflect, and make serious decisions about their faith journey.

Annual Valentine's Party

"Honey, I Love You...but do I really know you?"  This will be the theme of our annual Valentine's Party, to be held on Friday, February 12 at 7pm.  Space is limited to 20 couples.  Sign up in the narthex or contact Steve & Janet Finch with any questions.
